CHICAGO — A man's body was pulled from a pond in Douglas Park Saturday morning, police said.

Police responded to a call of a person in the water at the park, in the 1400 block of South Sacramento Avenue, at 11:05 a.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.

When they arrived, they discovered the body of an adult black male, she said. The marine unit responded to recover the body.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said the man's body was too decomposed to determine his age or race. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:58 a.m., the medical examiner's office said.

Area Central detectives are conducting a non-criminal death investigation, she said.
