LOGAN SQUARE — Police are warning neighbors in Logan Square of a man who tried to lure two boys into a van Wednesday afternoon, according to a community alert.
About 3:30 p.m., a man approached two boys — ages 9 and 11 — on the sidewalk in the 2900 block of West Cortland Street. He pointed to a white van and asked if the boys wanted to get in, but the boys declined and continued walking home.
Police described the man, who is thought to be between 45 and 50 years old, as black, about 5-foot-10 and 215 pounds. He is described as bald with a dark complexion and was wearing a white T-shirt and dark paints with yellow stripes at the knees.
