Uptick In Lincoln Park Burglaries, Police Say

LINCOLN PARK — Police are warning Lincoln Park residents of a recent string of residential burglaries in the neighborhood.

Police said three residences in a two-block stretch of North Sheffield Avenue were robbed this past weekend. Burglars entered through an open door or by breaking a window and took property, police said.

The three crimes occurred:

• In the 2000 block of North Sheffield Avenue about 10:30 p.m. on March 15.

• In the 2000 block of North Sheffield Avenue between noon and 3 p.m. on March 16.

• In the 2100 block of North Sheffield Avenue between 2:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. on March 17.

Police did not describe the burglars.

Police also said property was damaged in the same area in two separate incidents over the same time period.

The two crimes occurred:

• In the 2100 block of North Fremont Street at 11:30 a.m. on March 15.

• In the 800 block of West Armitage Avenue between noon and 5 p.m. between March 14 and March 16.
