WEST TOWN — Pasta Puttana is packing it up.

Jessica Volpe is closing her shop at 1407 W. Grand Ave. and moving to Los Angeles, but not before she sells off the last of her equipment and her signature fresh pasta.

Volpe will hold a moving sale from 10 a.m.-3p.m. Saturday and, if there is still stuff left, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday at the shop. Items for sale include a display cooler, steel rolling racks, dishes and utensils, plus discounted pantry items and frozen meats.

Volpe made her final batches of pasta Friday morning: arugula, roasted garlic, egg, red chile and white wine.

Volpe has been a Green City Market fixture since starting her fresh pasta business in 2008. She opened the West Town storefront in 2011.

In January, she announced the closing of her shop and her move west.

Volpe isn't turning her back on pasta for good. She said she'll keep an online presence with a blog called Pasta Puttana's House of Pastatution, where she will share pasta recipes, how-to videos and more.
