CHICAGO — The city woke to more snow Saturday as meteorlogical spring arrived with a dud. More snow is expected to fall the rest of the weekend.

The area is under a winter weather advisory from 3 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service said, with "steady snow" expected to drop 4 to 6 inches through Sunday morning.

The bulk of the snow is expected to hit this evening, meaning fans attending Saturday's Blackhawks-Penguins game at Soldier Field should prepare for winter conditions.

While Saturday marks the beginning of meteorological spring, the first day of spring as determined by the astrological calendar is March 20.

This winter was the third coldest and third snowiest on record, the National Weather Service said.
