CHICAGO — Call it the kettle of Kittle.
Former Chicago White Sox star Ron Kittle has lent his name to a new line of products from Hot Sports Grills, a manufacturer of customizable sports-themed charcoal grills.
“Ron Kittle always did everything in a big way, especially hitting home runs. Now his autograph is available in a big way," company founder Bernie DiMeo said in a statement.
The company's "Kittle package" includes the baseball-shaped grill with the emblazoned autograph, an "I Got Grilled with Kittle" apron and a spatula with a cutout of Kittle's autograph — you know, to stamp your meats with ol' No. 42's likeness.
The package sells for $89.95 and is available only at the Hot Sports Grills website or by calling 773-647-1220.
Sox fans can tailgate in the parking lots outside the stadium beginning two hours prior to first pitch. Opening Day at U.S. Cellular Field is set for 3:10 p.m. on March 31.
