COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Prosecutors said a west suburban man raped a maid while he was staying at a Lincoln Park hotel on Saturday.

Dennis L. Sluski, 46, of St. Charles, was charged with criminal sexual assault. He also has two warrants out of DuPage and Will counties for failing to appear in court on unrelated charges, according to a police arrest report.

Sluski was staying with his dog at the Inn at Lincoln Park, 601 W. Diversey Parkway, on Saturday when he decided to switch rooms, according to Assistant State's Attorney Mary Hain and court documents.

The victim, a 43-year-old cleaning maid at the Inn, found some of Sluski's belongings in the old room, went over to his new room and knocked on his door, Hain said.

When she entered the room, he threw her down on the bed and raped her, Hain said. When she scratched his arm and slapped his face, the man's dog bit her hand, Hain said.

Authorities were called after she told the head housekeeper what happened, according to Hain.

The woman was treated at Illinois Masonic Medical Center for the dog bite, the arrest report states.

Sluski was arrested about 5:15 p.m. the same day after being identified by the victim in a photo array, according to the report.

Sluski was in the hospital during his bond hearing Sunday and did not appear in court; it was unclear why he was being treated. His arrest report notes that he broke his ankle nine weeks ago.

Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. ordered Sluski held on a $750,000 bail Sunday.
