CHICAGO — A 3-year-old boy died after a fire at a two-unit house in Austin on Friday night, authorities said.

Jaantwiaon Edwards, of the 100 block of North Laramie Avenue, died at Loretto Hospital about 9:30 p.m., shortly after a fire at his home, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The fire started about 8 p.m., according to Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.
