CHICAGO — This weekend, embrace Valentine's Day or ignore it entirely with the variety of events going on in the neighborhood.

Chicago Theatre Week, multiple locations and show times.

See shows such as "Macbeth" at Greenhouse Theater Center, "Old Jews Telling Jokes" at Royal George Theatre, "Ramona Quimby" at Apollo Theater at discounted prices all weekend long. Check online for details.

Friday

Randy Rogers Band with Kyle Park at Joe's Bar, 940 W. Weed St., 8:30 p.m.

Country group Randy Rogers Band performs with fellow Texan Kyle Park. Tickets are $12, and the show is for those 21 and older.

Saturday

Chocolate Galore at Whole Foods, 1550 N. Kingsbury St., 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Learn how to melt chocolate and make dipped strawberries and brownie pops along with a hot chocolate recipe. Get tickets for $25 online.

Freddy Jones Band Concert at Joe's Bar, 940 W. Weed St., 7 p.m.

Chicago-based rock group Freddy Jones Band plays a concert benefiting Memories for Kids, a nonprofit that seeks to help children whose parents have terminal cancer. 

"More Bang for Your Buck Valentine’s Day Rockin’ Variety Show" at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 7:30 p.m.

The variety show includes sketch comedy and live bands until midnight, and tickets are $25 for those 21 and older. Check out the full lineup on Park West's website.

Sunday

Drop-in Improv Class at Second City, 1616 N. Wells St., 6 p.m.

The Second City has a weekly improv class open to those of all experience levels. Pre-registration is not required and you don't have to be a student to drop in. The class is $15 for two hours, and the training center stresses that students should get there on time.
