LAKEVIEW — East Lakeview bar ROCKS lakeview will soon expand into its third storefront since it opened in 2008 as it seeks to start offering deliveries.

The bar at 3463 N. Broadway first expanded to a second storefront two or three years ago, said general manager Kristan Raymond. Now, it's taking over the former Anthos Flower Shop to add 20 percent more seating and to double the kitchen, she said.

ROCKS regulars wanted delivery, but the current kitchen is too small, she said.

"We plan on being a presence in the neighborhood for a really long time," Raymond said. "We wanted to get the space just right to be here for decades to come."

Raymond hopes that the added kitchen capacity will also speed up service and food times, especially when the bar's big patio debuts for the summer. Burgers, currently the most popular item, and other dishes sometimes took a while to get out due to the small kitchen, she said.

"I think our service is going to be better," Raymond said. "It’s going to be faster."

The bar has been closed for about a week for renovations. It will reopen in about two weeks and will host a grand opening party after that.

Meanwhile, ROCKS' other location in Lincoln Park, 1301 W. Schubert Ave., remains open.
