CHICAGO — For young movie critics or future auteurs who'd prefer to spend their spring break contemplating films or creating their own, Lincoln Park's Facets now has program for that.

The nonprofit film center, which has had its summer Facets Kids Film Camp for about two decades, will hold its first spring camp from April 14-18 for those ages 7-10.

Similar to its summer camp, the spring program will include lessons in visual storytelling, movie history and filmmaking vocabulary as well as training in film critiquing, according to Facets.

Future Ron Howards and Kathryn Bigelows can also learn about storyboarding, acting, lighting, sound and directing.

The camp costs $450 and will run full days from 9 a.m.-5 p.m at Facets, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave. Snacks will be doled out, but students will have to bring their own lunch.

The summer program runs during various dates from June to August.

Those wanting to sign up can fill out a form online or call 773-281-9075 Ext. 3011.
