CHICAGO — A Gold Coast bank was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money Monday afternoon.
Around 12:55 p.m., officers were called to the North Community Bank at 800 N. State St. after a bank teller's alarm was sounded. The robber fled the scene with cash, said Officer Daniel O'Brien, a police spokesman.
No one was in custody, O'Brien said.
The robber was a black man with a dark complexion, brown hair and brown eyes. The robber was wearing eye glasses and was carrying a messenger bag. He weighed between 125-135 pounds and stood between 5-foot-1 and 5-foot-3, according to a description released by the FBI.
The crime occurred near Loyola's Water Tower Campus, according to a university news alert.
