CHICAGO — Two people were injured overnight Saturday with what police said were self-inflicted gunshots.

In the most recent shooting, a 31-year-old shot himself in the toe while cleaning his gun in the 4100 block of West Crystal Street around 3 a.m., police said.

The man drove himself to Norwegian-American Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Officer Janel Sedovic, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

A 16-year-old boy also was shot Saturday evening in Englewood.

The boy was shot in the leg around 9:05 p.m. while in the 5900 block of South Paulina Street. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Police Department spokesman.

Officers think the wound may have been self-inflicted, Alfaro said.
