CHICAGO — A man who was caught stealing Blu-ray discs in River North is responsible for 19 burglaries in the city since August, police said.

Rodney Burton, 47, of the first block of North Hoyne Avenue was charged with three counts of burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools, all felonies.

Burton was arrested after police responded to a call of a burglary in the 400 block of West Huron Street in River North at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a police statement.

When cops arrived, they saw Burton leaving a building with a bag.

He drove off, but police pulled him over and arrested him.

At the scene, police found the outside door left ajar and an inside door pried open. The business sold electronics and audio equipment and the burglar's bag contained both burglar's tools and a number of Blu-ray discs.

Detectives connected Burton with three "active burglary patterns" dating to August and taking place in the Central, Near West and Near North police districts.

Burton is due in court Friday.
