Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

CHICAGO — Catch a range of music events, some stand-up comedy or a family-friendly animal-themed activity this weekend.

Multiple days

Mike Lawrence at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., multiple showtimes Friday and Saturday

New York City-based comedian Mike Lawrence, seen on "Conan," performs at Zanies through Saturday. The show is $25 plus a minimum of two food or drink orders.

Chicago Herpetological Society at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Every first weekend of the month, the Chicago Herpetological Society hosts a hands-on activity at the museum that explores all things reptiles (think snakes and turtles) and amphibians (think frogs and newts). The event comes with the price of museum admission.

Friday

Caleb Hawley, GoldFord, Tall Walker and Mighty Fox at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 8 p.m.

Rock and soul artist Caleb Hawley performs at Lincoln Hall as part of his new record release along with GoldFord, Tall Walker and Mighty Fox. Tickets, for those 21 and older, are $10 online and $12 at the door.

Second City Citizens at Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted Ave., 8 p.m.

DJ Elliven performs along with hip-hop artists Supreme Regime, Tomorrow Kings. The event, hosted by Dook Breeze, is $6 and just for those 21 and older.

Saturday

Galactic at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 8 p.m.

Catch New Orleans funk band Galactic for $30 in advance or $35 at the door. The show is restricted to those 18 and older.

Califone and William Tyler at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

Chicago's own Califone performs along with guitarist William Tyler. Tickets are $18, and the show is restricted to those 21 and older.

Sunday

DJ Jeff Moyer at Neo, 2350 N. Clark St., 10 p.m. 

For those who want the weekend to last just a little bit longer, the late-night spot hosts Sunday Funday with local DJ Jeff Moyer until 4 a.m.
