Police Warn of Increase in West Town Home Burglaries

CHICAGO — Chicago Police issued a community alert following a rash of burglaries near West Town.

Police said the increase of burglaries in December and earlier this month involved suspects who forced open the rear doors and windows of homes, entered and removed property.

Police have no description of the suspects.

The burglaries occurred in the:

• 1400 block of North Talman Avenue on Dec. 24 at noon

• 3500 block of West Pierce Avenue on Dec. 28 between 10 a.m. and noon

• 1800 block of North St. Louis Avenue on Jan. 7 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

• 1600 block of North Kedzie Avenue on Jan. 8 at 7:45 p.m.

• 1300 block of North Wolcott Street on Jan. 9 at 5:30 a.m.

• 1500 block of North Talman Avenue on Jan. 11 at 12:15 p.m.

• 1700 block of North Talman Avenue on Jan. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

• 1800 block of North Albany Avenue on Jan. 22 between 9:15 a.m. and 6:20 p.m.

• 1600 block of North Whipple Street on Jan. 22 between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
