PARK MANOR —A firefighter injured his hand while battling an extra-alarm fire Friday at a Dollar & Up store at the southwest corner of 75th Street and King Drive.

"The firefighter was taken to the University of Chicago Hospitals with a non-life threatening injury," said Larry Langford, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department. "At this point the fire is still under investigation to determine the cause but there were no other injuries."

A Cricket Wireless store next to the dollar store at 375 E. 75th St. also was destroyed.

Frank Par, manager of the Cricket Wireless, said the store opened in 2009, and he was unsure whether the owner would reopen.

"I don't know if we will rebuild the store. As you can see, the fire did not start with us, but next door at the dollar store," Par said.
