Police Seek Robbers Who Struck Near North Parking Garages on New Year's

CHICAGO — Police are looking for armed robbers who held up victims in two Near North Side parking garages on New Year's Day.

In both incidents, two robbers pulled up in a black four-door Hyundai and approached victims before pulling out a gun and demanding money, according to a community alert.

The incidents occurred in the 100 block of West Superior Street at 11:11 a.m. and in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street at 2:40 p.m.

In the latter incident, the victim's car also was stolen.

Police gave a description of one suspect: a black man who is 6 feet tall, thin, 26 to 32 years old, with a light brown complexion and cornrows. No description was given for the second suspect, who drove the Hyundai away from the scenes.
