CHICAGO — Though 40-degree temps may feel like Hawaii to Chicagoans after the "Chiberia" deep freeze, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum is actually going tropical.
The museum at 2430 N. Cannon Drive will host a Luau party Friday night in its warm Judy Istock Butterfly Haven exhibit. The event will include dinner and feature crafts for kids, like making leis and grass skirts out of recycled material.
The rest of the museum will also be open late, as the event goes from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adult members, $15 for adult nonmembers, and $5 for children ages 3 and up.
