LAKEVIEW — Got a trash pile-up from no pickup on Monday?

Lakeview's garbage men will be out Friday to make up for the day off for extreme weather, said Norine Hughes, a staffer at Ald. Tom Tunney's (44th) office. Monday is the ward's usual trash day.

"They are scrambling to get everything," she said.

The office hasn't received calls about service, Hughes said, but some residents have reported on social media about big pile-ups from the missed trash day.

Service will return to its regular schedule on Monday, Hughes said.

Garbage workers were diverted to snow removal earlier this week after heavy snowfall and subzero temperatures.
