Man Taken Ill From 69th Street Red Line Station Dies at Hospital

CHICAGO — A Roseland man died early Friday after he began convulsing at a CTA Red Line station in Greater Grand Crossing.

The man was found on the 69th Street CTA platform, 15 W. 69th St., around 11 p.m. Thursday, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman. He was having convulsions and "medical issues" and was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital.

William Jones, 34, of the 500 block of West 104th Street, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 12:03 a.m. Friday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police have launched a death investigation.
