CHICAGO — Six people were injured when a Metra train collided with a bumping post.

Around 8:45 a.m. Monday, a Metra train pulling into LaSalle Street Station at 414 S. LaSalle St. hit a bumping post, which signifies the end of the Rock Island District line. The crash caused the train to jolt, said Michael Gillis, a Metra spokesman.

Six of the passengers were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. Metra officials are investigating to determine if the collision was weather-related, Gillis said.
