CHICAGO — A man who shot at his son during an argument Tuesday has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, police said.
Authorities charged Donald Golladay, 67, in the fatal shooting of his 25-year-old son August Golladay.
The shooting happened in the 3700 block of South Wells Street Armour Square around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, officials said.
August Golladay, who lived in the home where he was shot, was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Hospital. He died less than an hour later.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that the son had been threatening to kill himself, according to the Tribune. Donald Golladay then left the room, got a gun and fired several time, the report said.
Donald Golladay fired at his son, thinking that it was not loaded, he told police.
He is being held on $250,000 bail, according to the Tribune.
