ROGERS PARK — No New Year's Eve plans? These neighborhood bars and restaurants have you covered.

Here are some highlights of what the Far North Side has to offer.

R Public House: The pub at 1508 Jarvis Avenue plans to host a New Year's Eve Bash, then, the next morning, a brunch meal sure to help with a hangover. Beginning 5 p.m. Tuesday, R Public House will offer a smattering of specials, including beer-battered asparagus, balsamic wings, lobster pot pie and mac and cheese, all served with a free drink. Free appetizers will be served from 10 p.m.-midnight, when a champagne toast will ring in the new year.

Then, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. New Year's Day, R Public House plans to serve even more specials, including eggs and bacon benedict, biscuits and gravy and a breakfast Portobello mushroom, to remedy hangovers. There will also be a bloody mary bar — with Absolut bloodies and mimosas available for $5 throughout the day.

Mayne Stage: The Sons of the Stone Age plan to cover the music of David Bowie on New Year's Eve, alongside electronic duo New Canyons and The Amazing Heeby Jeebies. The show, at 1328 W. Morse Ave., kicks off 9 p.m. with Video jockey Leroy Fields, who will open the show with classic music videos from the '80s. The Act One Pub, attached to the Mayne Stage, will be serving food and booze before and after the show. Select craft draft beers will be on special for $4. Tickets, which include party favors and a champagne toast at midnight, are $25 general admission and $35 for seating on the balcony. Call 866-468-3401 or go to www.maynestage.com for tickets.

The Glenwood: The popular spot at 6962 N. Glenwood Ave. plans to offer free pizza and an open bar to ring in the new year. A $25 ticket is required to get in. The bar will be open from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. and free pizza will be served at 1 a.m. Call 773-764-7363 to order tickets and for more information.

Red Line Tap: The Henhouse Prowlers and bluegrass band The Mudflapps are playing New Year's Eve at the Red Line Tap. Tickets are $20 for the 9 p.m. show at the bar, 7006 N. Glenwood Ave.

Uncommon Ground: The Devon Avenue restaurant offers a three-course dinner and a midnight toast Tuesday for $55. For an extra $10, attendees can enjoy music from the John Moulder Band and Larry Gray Trio. Food includes lamb meatballs, beef short ribs, stuffed butternut squash and chocolate spice cake for dessert. Call 773-929-3680 to make reservations.
