CHICAGO — Police said they're looking for men who forced their way into two Northwest Side homes, attacking women who answered the door before robbing the homes.

In both instances, women were forced inside their homes by two armed men who knocked on the door. It wasn't immediately clear if the two incidents are connected.

Most recently, a home was invaded 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 3700 block of North Oconto Avenue in Belmont Heights, cops said.

A 67-year-old woman opened the door, and two armed men struck her in her face as they forced their way inside the apartment.

The men took cash and jewelry before they fled. The woman refused medical attention, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The first incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 5200 block of North Mobile Avenue in Jefferson Park.

When a 40-year-old woman answered her door, two armed men forced their way inside and took money and a cellphone from the house, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a police spokesman.
