Three Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town Monday

CHICAGO — Three things to check out in the neighborhood Monday include Lincoln Park's first public menorah lighting and two comedy shows.

Seasonal

Lincoln Park's First Public Menorah Lighting, Mid-North Park, 5 p.m.

Lincoln Park have its public menorah lighting for Hanukkah, which started last week. Ald. Michelle Smith (43rd) will light the first candle. According to Chabad of Lincoln Park, the event will feature potato latkes (traditional Hanukkah pancakes), jelly doughnuts and live music.

Comedy

Improv All Stars at UP Comedy Club, 230 W. North Ave., 8 p.m.

A group of comedians performs improv for 60 minutes straight. Tickets are $16.

The Rising Star Showcase at Zanies, 1548 N Wells St., 8:30 p.m.

Comedian Dobie Maxwell hosts a lineup of 10 to 12 performers who are either looking to work at Zanies or practice their material. The show is $10 plus two minimum food or drink orders.
