COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Three men were arrested after they robbed a 14-year-old boy at gunpoint in Chatham Friday, according to prosecutors and a police arrest report.

Early D. Ware, 23, Darius T. Redd, 21, and Cornell Bryant, 27, were charged in connection to the robbery.

Ware was driving a Pontiac with Redd and Bryant inside when they passed a 14-year-old boy in the 600 block of East 85th Street on Friday, Assistant State's Attorney Anthony Lucafo said.

Redd held a gun to the boy while Bryant went through the victim's pocket and took a cellphone, according to an arrest report. The men also took the boy's black backpack, according to court documents.

The boy ran home, and cops later pulled over the Pontiac, where they found the cellphone and gun, Lucafo said. The three men were arrested about 10:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 81st Street, according to the report.

Redd, of the 400 block of East 48th Street, was charged with armed robbery, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon or parolee and having a gun without a valid owner's card.

Ware, of the 6500 block of South Sangamon Street, and Bryant, of the 8000 block of South Carpenter Street, were each charged with armed robbery.

According to Lucafo, Ware is on parole for an armed robbery charge.

Judge James Brown set bail for Ware and Redd at $250,000 on Sunday. The judge set bail for Bryant at $150,000.
