CHICAGO — One man was killed and at least two others wounded in shootings Tuesday night and Wednesday.

In Rogers Park, police found a man shot to death in the 7500 block of North Greenview Avenue about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, had been struck in his face and chest and was lying unresponsive in the mouth of an alley. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 3:12 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

He was identified as Mark Villannera, 30, of the 7600 block of North Bosworth Avenue by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Earlier in the evening, two men were shot in Auburn Gresham about 8 p.m., Alfaro said. The pair was walking along the 8300 block of South Carpenter Street when a gunman, dressed in all black, opened fire.

A 24-year-old man was struck in his left hip and left leg, while a 23-year-old man was hit in his buttocks. Both victims were treated at Stroger Hospital.

No one was in custody for either shooting as of Wednesday morning.
