Just after 11 p.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in his head in South Chicago, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The teen had been standing in a first-floor hallway in the 2700 block of East 80th Street when a gunman walked up and opened fire.

Tyshon Anderson, 18, of the 8000 block of South Marquette Avenue, was rushed in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

No one was in custody.
