LAKEVIEW — Local medical company group Aligned Modern Health debuted its third city location this month with free yoga and pilates classes in hopes of promoting overall health in the neighborhood.

Aligned, 560 W. Diversey Parkway, first opened two years ago on Southport, 3514 N. Southport Ave. It now also has a location in Lincoln Square, 4555 N. Lincoln Ave. and is planning to open a fourth location at 338 East Ohio St. in Streeterville next month.

The business combines alternative medicine philosophies, like acupuncture and chiropractic work, with partnerships with western medicine practices, said Bill Fiely, a marketing director with Aligned.

For Americans who may be hesitant to try Eastern practices like acupuncture, Aligned aims to be a safe, comfortable space to explore the health benefits, Fiely said.

The clinic also offers nutrition advice and massage for holistic healing.

"It's a place where you can seek alternative health care," Fiely said. "We had as our motto, 'It's a place I'd be comfortable sending my mother.'"

That said, the people at Aligned still work with western doctors across the city, Fiely said. Many of Aligned offers help for pregnant women, for example, and the clinic is a referral partner for OBGYN doctors across the city, he said.

Aligned is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and UnitedHealthcare and works with all major health insurance, Fiely said.

The free weekly yoga and pilates classes on Fridays and Saturdays are intended to "drive flexibility and core" for anybody in the area.

"We want to give back and promote health and wellness in the community," Fiely said. "We don’t want to be a hidden medical office. We want to be a destination."
