Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town Wednesday

CHICAGO — Ideas for how to spend this Wednesday night in Lincoln Park include making your own mini garden or catching several live shows.

Hands-on

Terrarium Workshop at The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 6-7:30 p.m.

Teens and adults can make their own terrariums, or decorative mini gardens, with Nature Museum Horticulturist Seth Harper. The event is $30 for members and $35 for non-members, which includes materials. 

Theater

The Magic Cabaret at Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. 8 p.m.

The magic show, which has been running since 2007, has a performance at 8 p.m. for $20.

Comedy

Michael Palascak at Zanies, 1548 N Wells St., 8:30 p.m., FREE for those under 35.

In case you missed comedian Michael Palascak Tuesday night, he's playing a free show for those younger than 35 (but still at least 21) for Zanies' 35-year anniversary. Reservations are required, and those hoping to get a spot can call the box office at 312-337-4027. For those 35 and older, it's $25, plus two minimum orders of food or drinks.

Music

My Boy Elroy and Marcus Rezak (of Digital Tape Machine) at Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted St., 9 p.m. FREE SHOW.

Chicago-based DJ My Boy Elroy, of the Grammy-nominated group Liquid Soul, performs along with guitarist Marcus Rezak. The show is free and restricted to those 21 and older.
