CHICAGO — A man set another man's genitals on fire in Back of the Yards Monday after catching him having sex with his girlfriend, police said.

The incident happened around noon in the 4400 block of South Honore Street when a man punched a second man and burned his genitals, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a police spokesman.

According to a police report obtained by the Tribune, the aggressor walked in on the second man, 30, having sex with his girlfriend at her apartment.

He then proceeded to beat the 30-year-old unconscious and burn him with a lighter, the Tribune reported.

When the 30-year-old awoke, he ran to a laundromat at 44th Street and Ashland Avenue, where he tried applying Vaseline to the burned area to ease the pain, according to the police report.

The 30-year-old was treated at the University of Chicago Medical Center, Sullivan said.

No one was in custody Wednesday.
