CHICAGO — Want to try out to appear in the next "Star Wars" film? Do or do not. There is no try.
Auditions for the latest installment of the legendary film epic are set for Thursday from 3-8 p.m. at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave.
But aspiring Jedis should take note: casting directors are holding auditions for just two characters, a young woman and a young man.
The character of Rachel is between 17-18, beautiful and a tough survivor, making her way after the death of her parents. Thomas is athletic, handsome, 19-23, with a good sense of humor despite growing up without a father. More details are available on the casting call's website, where you can apply for the in-person audition.
Chicago is just one of the cities where potential actors are being vetted. In the next weeks they are visiting cities such as Minneapolis, Austin and St. Louis.
The upcoming "Star Wars" film - the seventh in the series - will be released in Dec. 2015. It will be directed by J.J. Abrams, co-creator of "Lost" and director of the recent "Star Trek" films.
