CHICAGO — A community alert has been issued in the Austin neighborhood after a teenage girl was sexually assualted Friday, police said.
The 16-year-old girl was walking north on Menard Avenue between Washington Boulevard and Madison Street about 10 p.m. when a man began following and calling out to her, police said.
After the girl ignored him, the man grabbed her from behind, pushed her against a wall in a vacant lot and sexually assaulter her before running away.
The suspect is described as a black male 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, weighting 155 to 175 pounds, with a deep voice.
