CHICAGO — Think you can whip up something delicious and maintain a reality-TV perfect personality at the same time? The Food Network might be looking for you.
The channel is holding opening casting calls for the 10th season of "Food Network Star" across the country and making its last stop in Chicago.
The Food Network said it's in search mode for those with "a captivating personality and unique food perspective." Winners of the reality show go on to have their own spots in the Food Network lineup.
Notable past champs include Guy Fieri of "Guy's Big Bite," Justin Warner, who went on to host "Rebel Eats," Northwestern University grad Aarti Sequeira, the star of "Aarti Party," and Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh, of Lakeview's own Hearty Boys, who hosted the short-lived "Party Line with the Hearty Boys."
Hopefuls should fill out an application before heading to Westin Michigan Avenue, 909 N. Michigan Ave., between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Nov. 16. The Food Network asks that aspiring stars bring a recent photo of themselves with their names written on the back along with a resume.
Alternatively, those who can't make it can also submit a three-minute video and fill out the home video application online.
