Police Warn of Burglaries in Lincoln Park, Old Town

CHICAGO — Police are warning businesses and residents of Lincoln Park and Old Town after multiple burglaries since September.

The police department issued two community alerts addressing five burglaries that have occurred in the area.

One alert warns of burglaries that occurred after burglars broke into two garages in the 1100 block of West Armitage Avenue and got away with some property.

The first incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Sept. 17 and 10 a.m. Sept. 18. The second incident occurred between 6:50 p.m. Oct. 10 and 6:15 a.m. Oct. 14.

In the other alert, police said a burglar entered into a business by prying open the front door before running of with bags of money or cash taken from cash registers.

The incidents occurred at the following locations and times:

• 1000 block of West North Avenue at 5 p.m. Oct. 13.

• 400 block of West North Avenue between 10 p.m. Oct. 15 and 11 a.m. Oct. 16.

• 200 block of West Evergreen Avenue between 7 p.m. Oct. 17 to 6:45 a.m. Oct. 18.

No descriptions of suspects were provided in either alert.
