CHICAGO — Actress, comedian and political activist Janeane Garofalo will appear at the Green Mill's weekly variety show on Saturday.
Paper Machete, a weekly "live magazine," that touches on topics that include current events, pop culture and "American manners," moved to the Mill, 4802 N. Broadway, last year. Featured guests and performers include writers, musicians and comedians from Chicago.
Garofalo, who is performing at Mayne Stage in Rogers Park on Friday and Saturday, will be joined Saturday by writer Samantha Irby, a Rogers Park resident whose new book, "Meaty" has been getting rave reviews, writer/comedian Bill Cochran, Second City cast members Katie Rich and Steve Waltien, playwright Ike Holter and iO Theater's Julia Weiss.
Chad the Bird, Bill Larkin and Bailiff will also perform.
Admission to the Paper Machete will be free, as always, and begins at 3 p.m.
