CHICAGO — Three children were injured after being hit by a car in Englewood Thursday morning, authorities said.

The car struck an 8-year-old girl and two 7-year-old boys near 69th and Halsted streets about 7:30 a.m., Chicago Fire Department spokesman Juan Hernandez said.

The driver remained on the scene after the incident, which did not happen on a Safe Passage route, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman. The children suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, Estrada said.

They were taken in stable condition to Comer Children's Hospital, Hernandez said.

Further information was not immediately available.
