CHICAGO — A shooting in Roseland left a 46-year-old man dead and another man in critical condition Saturday evening.

Police said the two men were standing on the sidewalk around 10:25 p.m. in the 11000 block of South Vernon Avenue in Roseland when a dark vehicle approached and fired shots. The 46-year-old man was shot in the head and the 21-year-old was shot in the neck, police said. They were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The victim, identified as Arlanders Watkins of the 10900 block of South Vernon in Roseland by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, was pronounced dead at Christ at 11:09 p.m.

No one is in custody and police are investigating the homicide. The shooting is possibly gang related, said Estrada.

Two men were killed and six others have been wounded since Friday evening.
