
CLEARING — A Chicago Lawn teenager is dead after he was fatally stabbed early Monday morning.
Jesse Gonzalez, 18, of the 6100 block of South Rockwell Street, was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said the stabbing in the Clearing neighborhood stemmed from a fight but could not provide further details surrounding the circumstances of the fight.
The fight that led to Gonzalez's death broke out about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 6500 block of South Kilpatrick, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police Department spokesman. After he was stabbed, Gonzalez was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead hours later.
No one was in custody in connection with Gonzalez's death Tuesday morning, Gaines said.
