Spike in Robberies Leads to Police Alert for Canaryville, Fuller Park

CHICAGO — A recent spike in armed robberies led police to issue an alert for Canaryville and Fuller Park Tuesday.

The robbers walked up to people in the street, pulled out handguns and robbed them. Some victims were working at the time, according to a community alert.

The robberies happened about 8 p.m. Sept. 15 in the 4400 block of South Shields Avenue, about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15 in the 4300 block of South Wells Street, and 3:10 p.m. Sept. 14 in the 400 block of West 45th Street, police said.
