CHICAGO — Three people were badly wounded in shootings on Chicago's South Side Saturday.

In the latest incident, two people were shot in the 7900 block of South Langley Avenue at about 2:20 Sunday afternoon, fire officials said. A 19-year-old man was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, and another male, whose age was unknown, was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, fire officials said.

Police are also investigating an Englewood shooting that critically injured a 23-year-old man.

The man was shot in the head at about 1:15 in the 7200 block of South Wentworth Avenue, said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.

He was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital. Police had no more information on the shooting.

Five people were injured in overnight shootings Saturday and Sunday.
