DryHop Brewery to Start Serving 'Kegs & Eggs' Brunch This Weekend

 The popular brewery in east Lakeview will start serving a "kegs & eggs" brunch on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.

LAKEVIEW — East Lakeview's popular new brewery will soon be serving an upscale version of kegs and eggs.

DryHop Brewers, 3155 N. Broadway, will start brunch service this Saturday. Their "kegs & eggs" will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a menu from chef Pete Repak, a Charlie Trotter alum.

The brewery opened in June and was so popular that it ran out of food on opening weekend. It doesn't take reservations and only seats 70 people.

Perhaps the most exciting highlight from the new brunch menu: "The Captain's French Toast", a french toast crusted with Cap'n Crunch cereal and topped with liquid cheesecake, blueberries and bourbon maple syrup.

The Captain's French Toast: Fresh Challah bread dipped in a rum-spiked egg & cream batter, ‘crusted’ in Cap'n Crunch cereal, and accompanied by liquid cheesecake, blueberries and warm bourbon maple syrup.

Omelets: Three Farm Fresh Hen's Eggs, served with Grandma’s Buttermilk Potato Casserole

  • Ham, Butternut Squash, Caramelized Onions, Arugula, and Munster
  • Smoked Thuringer Sausage, Green Onions, Swiss, and Mushrooms
  • Bacon, Apples, Cheddar, and topped with Country Sausage Gravy
  • OR choice of 3 fillings: Bacon, Ham, Smoked Thuringer Sausage, Pastrami, Caramelized Onions, Scallions, Mushrooms, Arugula, Collard Greens, Butternut Squash, Apples, Cheddar, Swiss, Munster, Blue Cheese
