COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A West Side man allegedly held down an attendee of last weekend's Riot Fest in Humboldt Park and stole his phone, prosecutors said.

Devon Burnett, 20, of the 1700 block of North Kedzie Avenue, was charged with felony robbery and theft after prosecutors say he came up behind a 16-year-old and tackled him.

The robber held the teen down, told him he had a gun and theatened to hurt him if he didn't do what he said, prosecutors said. The teen handed over his Nokia cellphone, and Burnett allegedly took off.

During a Tuesday bond hearing, the public defender representing Burnett said he was a high school graduate who hoped to attend culinary school and worked at a Harold's Chicken Shack that his grandfather owned.

Burnett is on parole for unauthorized use of a weapon and was convicted as a juvenile for marijuana possession.

His bail was set at $75,000.
