Construction Worker Dies After Being Trapped Under Vehicle

 A construction worker died after being trapped underneath a machine in Englewood Thursday, officials said.

ENGLEWOOD — A construction worker died after being trapped underneath a construction vehicle in Englewood Thursday, police said.

Martin Marino, 48, was trapped underneath the machine about 12:15 p.m., authorities said.

Police on the scene said the construction machine cuts concrete. Fire officials identified it as a paving machine. Marino was working for GA Paving.

He became trapped while a crew worked outside of New Jerusalem Pentecostal Church in the 6300 block of South May Street.

Marino, whose home address was unknown Thursday night, was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:45 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
