CHICAGO — The city's third annual SlutWalk drew demonstrators Downtown on Saturday to rally against the ways rape victims are blamed for their assault, sometimes because of what they wear.

SlutWalk, which started in Toronto in 2011, is an annual event held in several cities.

A Toronto police officer who reportedly told a group of students that "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized" helped spark the idea for the first march.

On Saturday Downtown, some protesters wore skirts, pasties, body art and other emblems to represent victim-blaming.

Participants gathered at Daley Plaza and marched through the Loop.
