UPTOWN— A 30-year-old man was pulled from the water near Montrose Harbor on Sunday.
Police responded to a man in the water near 44000 North near the lakefront around 3:30 p.m. The man was taken from the water and transported to Weis Memorial Hospital in critical condition, said Officer Daniel O'Brien, a police spokesman.
The man was pronounced dead at Weiss Hospital at 4:12 p.m. He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Najam Naimi, of the 600 block of Maypole avenue in East Garfield Park.
Detectives are investigating the death, said O'Brien.
