RIVER NORTH — A security guard directing traffic outside a River North was injured when he was struck by a car early Sunday morning.

The 22-year-old man worked at the Board Room, 343 W. Erie St. He was struck about 3:40 a.m. near west Erie and north Orleans streets, less than a block from the club, said said Officer John Mirabelli, police spokesman.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed initially in stable condition, Mirabelli said.

Police are reviewing video taken near the scene and are looking for a dark-colored BMW that may have been involved in the crash, Mirabelli said.

The Board Room had just closed, and the security guard was helping people leave when he was struck by a car that did not stop, Mirabelli said.

Club representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the incident.
