LAKEVIEW — Lakeview's serial enterpreneur Phil Tadros is now bringing an oyster bar to Broadway.

Tadros, the man behind coffee shop Bow Truss, new brewery Strange Pelican and more, plans to open a two-story oyster and cocktail restaurant at 2928 N. Broadway, the former home of an old porn shop called Adult Fantasy, Tadros said.

The tentative name for the restaurant is Oyster Pail for the top floor and The Wilcox for the bottom floor — inspired by the Chicago inventor of the Chinese take-out container, Frederick Weeks Wilcox. Originally, Wilcox called the take-out box a paper "oyster pail."

Oyster Pail and The Wilcox will serve up "hogs and rocks," or hams and oysters, and craft cocktails developed by Logan Square's Fat Rice's bar manager Jason Brown. Tadros is leaving the drink menu up to him.

While Oyster Pail's higher ceilings and narrow space will be cozy and light, The Wilcox will have a more speakeasy feel, Tadros said.

"We want it to be high-end and approachable," Tadros said.

He plans to open up shop in the next four to six months.
