MUSEUM CAMPUS — If you're tired of munching on muffins and coffee between trips to check out Sue the T. rex or shoes from around the world, the Field Museum has big news.

The 120-year-old museum announced plans Monday to open two new restaurants, including an outdoor patio and a "World Grill" that sources sustainable ingredients from local farmers.

The museum will partner with food service company Aramark next month to build The Field Bistro on the main level, where there's currently a Corner Bakery, that will include an outdoor patio and a restaurant with international cuisine.

"The new restaurants will reflect the Museum's focus on international cultures and will be in line with our efforts to use sustainable products," Field Museum Senior Vice President Laura Sadler said in a statement.

The Field Bistro is expected to open in mid-November, according to the museum.

On the lower level, the family-friendly Explorer Café will include kids' menu items and is set to open in April 2014.

The museum will kick off construction next month.
